I’m going to add to what another reviewer said about this book not being for everyone. If you want a solid book of hike options and descriptions for in/around Tahoe - this book does just that. The descriptions are good and the directions to trailheads are spot-on. However, many of the trails are much more difficult than the author lets on.Take the Mount Rose Summit trail - at 10+ miles & ~2,400 ft of elevation gain - that trail is listed as a 3/5. We completed this trail - my husband and I are both active - and we struggled. This trail starts at over 8,000 feet and takes you down to a valley then back up to over 10,700 With the last 1,500 ft gained in the last mile or so.If you do get this book - it has it’s positives. But be sure to check out other sources for trail difficulty before heading out on your adventure
